Hyatt credit card now includes four free-night awards after spending

World of Hyatt’s credit card now comes with four Category 1-4 free-night certificates after $5,000 in purchases within the first three months of opening an account. The certificates depend on award availability and are valid for 12 months. Spending on the card also earns qualifying nights toward elite status.

The certificates are separate awards that can be combined or used on different stays, but reservations are limited by standard-room award inventory, and checkout must happen before each certificate expires. At the high end of the eligible range, a Category 4 night can cost 25,000 points under Hyatt’s current chart, meaning four certificates could be worth as much as 100,000 points in hotel stays. The card has a $95 annual fee.

Cardholders receive five qualifying nights each year, plus two more for every $5,000 spent. Reaching $15,000 in purchases triggers six spending nights, 15,000 points, and an additional Category 1-4 certificate. These credits count toward Hyatt milestones and status, including the 60-night Globalist threshold. Chase excludes current cardholders and anyone who received the card’s initial bonus within the previous 24 months, and its five-personal-cards-in-24-months rule generally applies.

Why it matters

The certificates can help cover expensive hotel stays, but the category limits and expiration date reduce flexibility. Spending to chase status may not offer the best return compared with other cards, although hitting the thresholds can unlock suite upgrades and other milestone perks on family trips.
