Some Social Security payments will be sent out one day earlier than usual because of the Veterans Day holiday.
Social Security benefits, paid mainly to older adults and retirees, are generally distributed on Wednesdays. If your birthday falls between the first and 10th of the month, your payment is set for the second Wednesday of the month, which would be Nov. 11 under the standard schedule, according to the Social Security Administration’s calendar.
Because that Wednesday is Veterans Day, however, those payments will be issued a day ahead of time.
For other beneficiaries, people born between the 11th and 20th receive payment on the third Wednesday of the month, and those born after the 20th are paid on the fourth Wednesday. Recipients who started receiving benefits before May 1997 are scheduled to be paid on Nov. 3, according to the SSA calendar.
