More than 32,000 Jocoevol 6-drawer dressers are being recalled because they can become unstable unless anchored to a wall, creating tip-over and entrapment hazards that could lead to serious injury or death for children.
The dressers do not meet the mandatory safety requirements set out in the STURDY Act.
The recall covers Jocoevol 6-Drawer Dressers sold in black, pink, brown and white. Each unit has six drawers and is made of engineered wood. The dressers measure 47.2 inches wide, 15.3 inches long and 32.3 inches tall, and weigh 97 pounds. The model number, “C-0633,” appears on a label inside the top left drawer.
The products were sold on amazon.com for about $160.
Consumers should stop using the recalled dressers right away if they are not anchored to the wall, move them to a place children cannot reach, and contact Yinklev for a full refund.
Consumers will be instructed to write “RECALLED” in permanent marker on the dresser and send a photo of the marked unit to [email protected]. After that, they should dispose of the recalled product.
