Background on the Recall
Best Supplements Best Prices announced a voluntary recall of all lots of WAP Sensual Enhancement capsules, a dietary supplement marketed for sexual enhancement. The product was distributed nationwide in the United States through the internet on www.ebay.com. The company is contacting customers by email and offering full refunds.
Why the Product Was Recalled
FDA testing found that the capsules contain undeclared sildenafil, tadalafil, and flibanserin. Sildenafil and tadalafil are active ingredients in FDA-approved prescription medications used to treat erectile dysfunction. Because they were not listed on the label, they may interact with nitrates in certain prescription medicines, including nitroglycerin, and could cause blood pressure to drop to dangerous levels.
Flibanserin is the active ingredient in an FDA-approved prescription drug used to treat low sexual desire in women. It can cause drowsiness, sedation, severely low blood pressure, and fainting, especially when taken with alcohol. The recall was carried out with the knowledge of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
