Box sets are set for release in the fall
BMG, working with Rhino Entertainment, has announced Totally Twisted – The Studio Albums 1982–1987, a set that revisits a defining stretch in rock history by gathering Twisted Sister’s studio albums from 1982 through 1987.
The collection will be issued on November 13 as both a 5-color-LP box set and a 5-CD box set. It documents the period when Twisted Sister moved from a New York City club act to an international heavy metal force.
Included in the set are the band’s key albums: Under the Blade, You Can’t Stop Rock ’n’ Roll, Stay Hungry, Come Out and Play, and Love Is for Suckers.
Together, the records trace the full span of the group’s formative 1980s run and gather the studio work of a band whose sound, look, and larger-than-life image helped shape the era.
The 5-color-LP version places each album on its own distinct vinyl color, creating a collector-focused package for fans who want the recordings in their original album format.
Combining hard-rock energy, memorable songs, and an instantly recognizable visual style, Totally Twisted – The Studio Albums 1982–1987 is aimed at longtime supporters and at listeners discovering the band for the first time.
After their final 40 and Fuck It tour in 2015, Twisted reunited more recently with former Skid Row singer Sebastian Bach replacing Dee Snider, who stepped away because of complications from degenerative arthritis. The group had initially canceled its 50th anniversary tour after Snider’s departure, but the new lineup represents a fresh turn for the “S.M.F.” legacy.
