The Ring Battery Doorbell 2K runs on a built-in rechargeable battery, so it can be installed almost anywhere. Ring’s Retinal 2K video helps you clearly view activity on your front porch, while the 140-by-140-degree lens gives you a wide look at anyone approaching your door. With up to 6x Enhanced Zoom, you can make out a visitor’s face or read labels on deliveries, and Two-Way Talk lets you speak to people at the door through your phone.

This model includes the core tools of a front-door security setup: Retinal 2K video with high dynamic range, head-to-toe viewing, night vision, Live View, Two-Way Talk, and motion alerts, all powered by a rechargeable battery.

The Retinal 2K video delivers a 1920 by 1920 pixel image. HDR helps balance bright areas, such as a sunny sky, with darker areas, such as a shaded porch, in the same frame. Low-light tuning is built into the camera, and night vision helps you keep an eye on what happens at your door after dark.

The wide 140-by-140-degree field of view shows a visitor from head to toe. Instead of only catching the top of a package left on your porch, you can see both the delivery person’s face and the box near their feet.

Enhanced Zoom lets you digitally enlarge part of live or recorded video to identify a person or object more easily. With up to 6x Enhanced Zoom, you can get close enough to read a delivery label or take a better look at a car in your driveway.

Motion detection sends alerts whenever someone comes near your home. Custom motion zones let you choose the areas where you want movement tracked, helping reduce alerts caused by people on the sidewalk or vehicles passing by on the street. Live View lets you check activity around your home whenever you want, and Two-Way Talk gives you a way to speak directly with a guest or service provider without opening the door.

Setup is straightforward. Attach the Ring doorbell to your home, and when the battery needs recharging, remove it with the included tool and connect it to any standard USB-C cable. In addition to USB-C charging, you can also wire it to your existing doorbell setup for trickle charging, or add a solar charger if you want extended support.

Video history is available through a separately sold Ring Protect subscription, which lets you review earlier activity around your home. The Ring Battery Doorbell 2K also works with Amazon Alexa-enabled devices, so an Echo Show can help you see who is at the door. It is available in Speckled White and Speckled Grey.
