More than 77,000 cans of 7UP Tropical are under recall. The affected product includes cans that were labeled as the zero-sugar version.

Thousands of cans of 7UP Tropical are being recalled after some packages marked “Zero Sugar” were discovered to contain the regular, full-sugar soda.

Admiral Beverage Corporation began the voluntary recall in August, and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration later classified it as a Class II recall, according to the agency’s enforcement report.

The product was distributed in Utah. Texas is not included in the distribution area listed in the report.

Which 7UP products are affected?

The recall covers 7UP Tropical sold in 12-ounce cans and packaged in 12-packs. According to the report, the outer packaging identifies the regular-sugar drink, but some individual cans inside were incorrectly labeled “7UP Tropical Zero Sugar.”

Consumers can identify the affected product using the following details:

- Lot code: UT06176
- Best-by date: March 17, 2027
- UPC: 0 78000 03798 2

What does a Class II recall mean?

The FDA uses this classification when a product could cause temporary or medically reversible health effects, or when the chance of serious harm is considered remote.

According to the FDA, the recall is still ongoing.

What should consumers do?

People who need to avoid sugar should not drink the affected soda. They can throw it away or return it to the retailer for a refund.
