Supplemental Security Income payments for November 2026, with amounts of up to $994, are set to reach recipients soon.
SSI benefits are usually paid on the first day of each month. If that day falls on a federal holiday, payments are issued on the last business day of the previous month. Because Nov. 1 falls on a Sunday, recipients will get their money on Oct. 30.
The program is designed to help people with limited income who are blind, are age 65 or older, or have a qualifying disability.
Payment amounts depend on several factors, including filing status. Individual recipients can receive as much as $994, eligible couples filing jointly can receive up to $1,491, and essential persons providing care to SSI recipients can receive up to $498.
To qualify, recipients must also be U.S. citizens or noncitizens in an immigration category recognized by the Department of Homeland Security.
They must live in one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, or the Northern Mariana Islands, and cannot be outside the United States for an entire calendar month or for 30 straight days.
The Social Security Administration’s full payment schedule is available on its website.
