November 2026 Social Security and SSI payment dates explained

The final standard Social Security payment for October 2026 is scheduled to go out on Wednesday, Oct. 28. The next round of payments will follow soon after.

Because the November calendar shifts the usual payout pattern, some Social Security and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipients will receive money earlier than expected. Here is the breakdown.

The same timing adjustment will also affect certain regular Social Security payments next month.

Regular Social Security benefits will still be paid in November. These payments normally go to nearly 74 million people on different Wednesdays based on birth date, although some checks will arrive earlier because of a holiday overlap.

Why are some November Social Security payments arriving early?

Since the first day of the month falls on a Sunday, the next SSI payment will be sent on Friday, Oct. 30, the last business day before the usual mailing date.

No SSI payments will actually be issued in November, because the next scheduled payment date remains Dec. 1.

Veterans Day falls on Nov. 11 and is observed on a Wednesday, so the first regular Social Security payment installment will also be sent one day early. Recipients should expect that check on Tuesday, Nov. 10.
