Medicare’s annual Open Enrollment window is now available, giving beneficiaries a once-a-year opportunity to review their coverage and make changes for the next plan year.
During this period, people enrolled in Medicare can join, switch, or leave a Medicare Advantage plan, change Part D prescription drug coverage, or move between Original Medicare and Medicare Advantage. Any changes submitted by the deadline take effect on January 1.
Even if a person is pleased with current coverage, it is still wise to review the plan, since premiums, deductibles, drug formularies, and provider networks may change from year to year.
Plan comparisons are available at medicare.gov, or by calling 1-800-MEDICARE.
