MOUNT DESERT — As heating oil and electricity prices remain at record levels, a new initiative is looking for volunteers to help residents find ways to reduce energy use at home. A Climate to Thrive is holding a volunteer information session for its Energy Coaching Program at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 13, at the Community School in Mount Desert. The session is aimed at people who want to learn more about serving as an Energy Coach with the organization.
The information session will offer an introduction to the Energy Coaching Program, which prepares volunteers to help community members identify practical ways to lower home energy bills and improve comfort, while also building a better understanding of energy statements. Volunteer coaches will guide households through each stage of exploring home energy upgrades, including help with rebates and incentives that may be available.
