There is a familiar comfort in the aroma of cookies baking in the kitchen. For Isabella Silver, that feeling is central to Georgie’s Cookies, a women-owned home baking brand known for gourmet olive oil cookie baking mixes and handcrafted cookies.
Silver started the business from a lifelong love of baking that she shared with her late grandparents, who taught her to bake from scratch when she was young. The name Georgie came from a dog she rescued at age 18.
“I grew up going to my grandparents house every week and they basically taught me how to bake. They would always make it from scratch, so I kind of got roped into helping them. They passed away a few years ago so baking always felt like I was close to them,” Silver said.
While many home bakers have begun using olive oil instead of butter in cakes and other treats, Silver refined the idea for cookies. Each recipe centers on locally milled olive oil from Queen Creek Olive Mill, along with local ingredients whenever possible.
Georgie’s Cookies blends old-world baking inspiration with clean, high-quality ingredients to produce cookies with deep, distinctive flavor. Silver has also expanded the brand with a signature collection of gourmet olive oil baking mixes. Made for simple home baking, the mixes include the olive oil in the package so customers can easily make soft, flavorful cookies at home.
The brand offers a rotating selection of standout flavors, with the aim of creating “flavors that you may have never heard of, or would think of.” Current options include Key Lime Pie, Dot Cookie, Orange, Lemon, Pumpkin and Gingerbread, suited to the holiday season.
After baking more than 10,000 cookies for customers across Arizona and beyond over the past year, Georgie’s Cookies continues sharing its take on olive oil baking with dessert lovers throughout the state. Learn more about Georgie’s Cookies at georgiescookies.com.
